The Alberta Association for the Accreditation of Early Learning and Care
Services is proud to offer
on behalf of the Alberta Government the first
province-wide accreditation program for early learning and care services in
Canada.
Accreditation is a self-assessment process for early learning and care programs
in Alberta. This process uses a tool, called a self-study guide, which
measures the quality of the care provided against a set of standards and
criteria. This self-assessment process involves parents, staff and
owner/operators to recognize the level of quality in their program and to
continuously improve and promote quality care.
The accreditation process supports child care programs in their efforts to
improve the quality of their services and provides parents with information to
enable them to choose quality care. By going through this rigorous accreditation
process programs are committing to raising the standard of care children receive
in Alberta.
